Personality:

Barry Allen is the type of guy who is always late. Not really because he wants to be, but because it’ll actually help with his disguise. It’ll help everyone identify him as him and not as the Flash. So being slow comes in handy a whole lot more than what he’d probably like. However, just because he’s slow doesn’t mean that he covers up how highly intelligent he is. After all, one has to be so in order to become a forensic scientist. Though unlike some he doesn’t flaunt it around, not even when he needs to. It doesn’t, however, mean that he won’t correct you if you’re wrong.

Like most superheroes he has a sense of justice. Wanting to make sure that everything is right and safe in the world. After the Reverse Flash killed his mother, he made it his life’s mission to find all the meta humans, find the Reverse Flash, and make sure they could never harm anyone ever again. It was one of the reasons that he got into forensics. After all, he’d known that his father was innocent and wanted to make things right.

Put Barry into a social gathering and you’re bound to make the boy nervous. He, unlike some of his friends, is socially awkward. Enough so that he ends up babbling on and on about things that they probably don’t understand. So until he’s used to someone, or he’s known them his whole life, he’s completely and utterly awkward and shy. (Though Iris is a special case and because he fell in love with her is normally shy around her. Refusing to tell her his feelings towards her.)

He also has a thing against killing people. It’s something that he refuses to do. It’s only happened once or twice and because of those times, he lost confidence in himself. Wasn’t sure that he could be the Flash anymore because what if it happened again? However, his friends and family pushed him towards his confidence. Reminded him that he wasn’t a killer and that he was the Flash. That he was someone the town looked up to. Someone that Central City admired.

The speedster has is stubborn but luckily has a lot of respect for his peers. Even if those peers include someone like Oliver Queen who tried to teach him to take in ALL of his surroundings. To keep an eye on what was going on around him so that he wouldn’t get blindsided by the bad guys.

All in all, Barry Allen is a stubborn, intelligent speedster who has a love for his city. Who will do EVERYTHING in his power, except kill, to make sure that it stays safe. That those he cares and loves are well protected.

Why do you think your character would work in this setting?

Barry won't be accepting Eli's offer because he will be breaking the barrier and ending up in New Dodge. However, he knows that Central City is safe due to Jay being there and will do what he can to help New Dodge further itself. It'll be a place where he's not fighting crime almost every other day as well. So a mini-vacation, if you will.

How do you plan to expand their CR?

Barry might be socially awkward and stumble over himself, babble and such to others. However, it doesn't mean that he won't branch out to meet new people. To see what these people have to offer about themselves. To see if they're villains or not. He will want to make sure they're safe. Even if New Dodge isn't Central City. So he will gladly talk to anyone and everyone.

The clothes on his back, the ear buds in his ear, the ring that holds his Flash suit on his finger, and protein bars that Cisco made so that he doesn't end up passing out.

Third-Person Sample:

The speedster had to get to the nearest location as soon as possible. It wasn’t a matter of life and death, this time, but he still need to get there on time. Except where he was, like always, late and he couldn’t help but see the look that Joe gave him. Luckily for him, his second father knew all about who he was. Knew why he was late for work.

“What do you have for me, Bare?”

“I’m not quite sure yet,” he tells him, giving him a bit of a smile. “But you know that I’ll find it without much of a problem.” It was something that they both knew he was good at. It was why he was on almost every criminal case that the CCPD had. If the cops didn’t find any evidence at the scene, he did.

He could hear Cisco in his ear telling him that they needed him, that he needed to get to STAR labs as quickly as he could. So he finds a dark spot, not that far from his location and takes off at a run. Only problem was... well, he’d finally run the speed that they’d wanted him to. Mach 2 or was it 3? Either way, he ran so fast that he knows for a fact he broke the speed barrier. So much so that he ends up in a weird place.

“Oh... This can’t be good...” He whispers to himself, putting a hand to his ear piece. “Caitlyn? Cisco?” Great, no answer. It meant that he was screwed and stuck now. At least until he figured out how to get back home.

First-Person Sample:

Dear Oliver,

You do realize that keeping this thing a secret is a must, right? You can’t tell anyone what I told you or the world might implode on itself or something. I mean... how do we know that it won’t already? I know that you’re not going to tell Felicity about him and that’s none of my business. Even if we know, in a way, that it is. She has a right to know. I know, I know, none of my business.

Anyway, I’m not even sure why I’m writing this to you. It’s not like I’ll ever send it. Perhaps I’ll simply trash it and get it over with. After all, I don’t want to ruin your life with her. If I did it would mean that I’d have to ghost and change things all over again. Something that I’d rather not do.
